I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working in both private practice and for the NHS. I have over 20 years’ experience working in Mental Health services, with over 10 of these as a qualified and accredited CBT therapist. I offer online video therapy to clients in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and across the UK.
I have extensive experience in assessing and treating a wide range of common anxiety and mood problems in adults and young people aged 16 and above. These include, but are not limited to: Depression, general Anxiety, Worry, Low self-esteem, Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Health Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Panic Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and Specific Phobias.
I would like to share a personal example of how I have used CBT strategies in my own life to overcome anxiety and self-critical thinking, to bravely step out of my comfort zone and to achieve my goals. A few years ago (just around my 40th birthday) I achieved my lifelong dream of joining a choir.
I was able to challenge my anxious and self-critical thinking and do something I had avoided most of my adult life. This was a really scary experience initially, but I have loved every minute and have even done performances at local theaters, Covent Garden and even recorded songs at Abbey Road studios. This was something I NEVER thought possible.
So… Don’t let self-doubt stop you… Live for now.
My Academic qualifications; BCs (Hons) Psychology, Post Graduate diploma CBT.
BABCP: I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies
